Hey all,

I'm computer savvy, in my late 40s, and I live in San Francisco. I've been working in tech for 20 years, working in support, training, and networking roles.

That's how I earn a living, and have been doing it in a freelance/solopreneur kind of way, from various gigs and clients I've gotten over the years. I've been working on earning more, and in a more consistent way, from things that are more enjoyable and still entrepreneurial.

About 6 years ago I took an online nutrition course. I like health and I've been trying to work on that to make it into an income. Really, monetize what I like.

Although I've learned affiliate marketing, I didn't make much at it. I've also learned web design and get some web customization projects in from time to time.

Right now, I have a list of a lot of ideas.

I like the hybrid model, earning some online and some in person.

Some ideas that I've been working on are digital, like t-shirts that use on-demand printing. I've also been working on a simple low-tech device that helps with eye health and relaxation.

I've read many books that you may have as well, including:
  • Think & Grow Rich
  • 4HWW
  • Side Hustle School

I've listened to many audio programs, including ones by Jack Canfield, Jim Rohn, etc.

I've tried a lot of things. Now I am working on narrowing down that list of ideas, and then getting to the next phase, which I think will be sales and marketing.

Glad to have the opportunity to connect and share, and I hope I can meet and help others, and would like to connect with people who are successful and have businesses based on their own ideas and interests.

Welcome to the forum.

Some ideas that I've been working on are digital, like t-shirts that use on-demand printing.

Terrible idea because it isn't an idea, but a grind. If anyone can copy what you're doing, you're not really adding relative value, just competing on basic value, a path to commoditization.

I've also been working on a simple low-tech device that helps with eye health and relaxation.

Sounds a lot more promising than T-shirts.

Now I am working on narrowing down that list of ideas

If it makes CENTS it will make SENSE.

I am in the process of selling some print-on-demand t-shirts and other stuff. After reading "The millionaire fastlane ", I am fully aware of the shortcomings of that strategy. But for me, the advantages are that I can start that business without a lot of money, I can test different products into different niches, and build myself some experience with selling.

Then, once I have some revenue from that, I can grow, expand, create a brand around a successful product or niche, or switch to a new idea that satisfy the CENTS commandments.

What do you think of that ?

Thank you MJ and Romain.

Right now, I'm working on prospecting, and figuring out which of many ideas to really go after. I guess it's "best guess", try and see.

When someone has a lot of ideas, do you guys have suggestions or a method to narrow them down to the top 1, 2 or 3?
