Taking a shot here to see if anyone is open to practicing cold calls with me via Skype/Zoom/whatever?

I think it would be a great learning opportunity and if several people are interested, then we could organize something together.

If you're interested, reply to this thread and I'll send you a private message.

You want me to hang up 8/10 calls? Or say, "Hi you've reached the voicemail of..."

Haha jk. You just need to practice by doing. Nothing bad will happen unless you live in some messed up country like Germany where it is (basically) illegal to cold call a business.

Just go for a numbers game or a hyper targeted follow-up game.

I joined this forum because it had really good advice for cold-calling. I followed it and here I am a year later. Go check out the "hustles and freelancing" section.

Since posting this, I've made hundreds of cold calls and you're right. It seems to be a numbers game where you instill as much confidence as possible in the prospect through your articulation of your service's value.

At the same time, you have to be able to switch to zero-pressure, be conversational and relaxed.

Yes, the service is valuable depending on how relevant the prospect feels it is.

If you can show someone what they're looking for, they will buy. If they feel they are lacking an effective online presence and someone stops by with a offer along those lines, there is a better chance to make a deal. If they don't want a website, just sift past them and focus on likely prospects.

It is a very cool feeling. You can see the decision click in their mind that their demand is being supplied with something valuable.

For now, focus on securing a face to face meeting. This will give you a better chance to get their full attention and show them how it relates to them.

(It is really really hard to close over the phone for a beginner. And if it is a high ticket item and they've never bought from you yet.)

I like to up my odds by spending more time on creating better leads. You need a hook to get people to talk to you, so you can tell your story.
