Anyone interested in using TQL should check out the reviews on TruckersReport and related sites.

With freight brokers, doing due diligence goes a long way.

We have a TQL here in Austin, they've tried to recruit me multiple times. From what I understand, it's a pretty cutthroat industry. How do you like it?

You should've done your research before joining TQL... They have a BAD name in the freight industry. I used to work for a big 3PL that was similar to TQL doing operations but now I work as a broker for a smaller trucking company.

Also, don't solicit on here.

Hello. I was actually in a position where I needed a job and they called. That's how that started. I have since read and heard the stories about TQL, and can understand where you're coming from. However, I really like the industry and enjoy the job for the most part. I really wish I would have been introduced to it years ago.

I apologize for the solicitation. I didn't didn't know. I won't do it again.

Thank you.

You guys don't blow up my phone and inbox enough? You gotta pollute the forum, too?

Hello. I am sorry about all the calls, I know how annoying they can be. We're just doing our jobs. We are taught to call a lot. That's probably the main part of the job I'm not a big fan of. If you request "do not call" the broker is supposed to go through the motions to get that done and updated in the system. Let me know if you want me to do that. I'll get it done for you.

Do you have suggestions on ways to earn business from customers, other than calling them to see if they could use our services? I'm giving it everything I have to become successful, so any and all advice would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Also, I'm not sure why it posted twice. Am I able to delete the duplicate?

Sorry...my previous comment was supposed to be on the other reply.

Honestly, I really do like it. As you said, yes, it's VERY cut-throat and challenging. As you can probably tell from other comments, companies don't like all the calls. There are a lot of us out there trying to build our customer base. Unfortunately the main way to get those, is by calling and calling and calling. Sometimes you will get someone on the phone that know and realize we're just doing our jobs and are nice about it. Others will just treat you like you're sub-human. If you're able to get passed that and have thick skin, it can be super rewarding. I'm fairly new and just trying to get established. You essentially have to prove yourself to stay employed, so late nights, tons of calls and ultimate rejections are the jist of it for awhile. Once you have a good customer base that allowed you to earn their business and trust, it gets a lot better. (so I'm told, lol) The resources we have are amazing. We really can get the job done for our customers. Are there bad stories and what not out there? Of course. Do all TQL brokers fit that mold? Not at all!

If you're going to post an ad, then pay for it.

This forum isn't for spammers from Fort Wayne to come and peddle their boss's crap. It's for people that want to start their own businesses and take control of their lives instead of living a robot existence going on random forums and trying to manipulate people using mediocre sales copy.

I am a new broker and looking to build my book of business.

Also F*ck off.

Work on your intro and build an understanding that no one gives a shit about what you want. They care about what they want.

I'm not a spammer. My boss didn't tell me to post in here or suggest anything. I didn't post an ad. I'm not trying to manipulate anyone.

None of my comments were scripted. I even asked how to delete posts, which I'll gladly do, now that I see how much of a fuss it caused.

I'll be more mindful before commenting again. I'll try to find the thread of angry forum masters, so I adhere to their demands and standards.

also, Good For You on educating me... thank you, sir.
