Where can I find the best quality lists in the personal development space?

I'm about launching a product (membership site) in the personal development niche in a few days time.
I'm looking to see if I can find people with quality lists in the space to do a mailing for me and help get the word out, either as affiliates or as paid mailing (solo ads).
I'm aware a few magazines in the niche have their mailing lists, as well as a few blogs, but I'm not sure of their quality.

Any ideas/pointers??
Any suggestions will be welcome.

If you don't already know what's out there and WHO is out there... how do you intend to enter the space?

I don't give much thought to my competitors but it's important to put your nose to the grindstone and figure out what they are all offering. Who has similar products? Complimentary products? Who has people that your product might be the next step OR the previous step?

I don't have a list for you... but I'd recommend finding what's already selling in your market. Use clickbank. Ffind personal development blogs. Look up the hashtags on Instagram. Find snapchatters who have personal growth as their theme.

I know I'm not answering your question directly but brother you've gotta google a bit.

Thank you. I've actually done quite a bit of googling and like I've mentioned in my post, I've identified some magazines and some blogs that have lists and are open to mailings for a fee.

However, what I'm not sure about is the quality of the lists...because I'm aware that the quality of a list is highly dependent on how the owner acquired the subscribers, as well as how they treat their subscribers.
If the owner flogs the list with ads day in, day out, the subscribers are likely to be tired of seeing ads, responses are not likely to be great despite a sizeable list, and such a list is not a quality list.

Its the degree of quality of their lists that I'm concerned about, and so I asked hoping just in case there's someone who's used some quality list providers in that space, and can make recommendations.

But having said that, you've raised some potentially valuable options that I hadn't considered previously (Snapchat and IG).
That is the kind of added ideas I was hoping would spout from a thread like this.
Your response is much appreciated.
Thanks.

You bring up valid points here. If they are professional affiliates (which most are, i.e. Success.com) then yes they sell day in and day out. But that's not always necessarily a bad thing -- because the people who would stick around probably buy everything.

I'm curious why you aren't considering running your own ads? Iinstead of paying other people for access to their list -- you could be creating your own!

Is your outcome to find someone who will give you access to their list for free?

As old and grumpy as I might seem these social media shenanigans are where people are hanging out. We're all missing out by not "story telling" on these platforms. I know Gary Vee is very popular these days and it feels like parroting his party line -- but he's right especially in our line of work.

I'm going to be running my own ads as well, but want to use a multi-pronged approach.
Run your own ads, get people to mail for you as affiliates, get people to also mail for you for a fixed fee.
That way, I can benefit from multiple marketing channels and reach people I might not have reached otherwise.
Also when other people mail to their lists for me, it also helps me build my list as well if they buy from me, cos they'll be added to my list of subscribers, in addition to building my own list from running Facebook ads.

That's my thinking anyway...

Genius, shoot me a PM with more details. I might be able to help.

Also, when it comes to large list providers out there...don't trust them. I had looked back in the day and there are a lot of large sites that will offer you lists for just about any niche you can think of, and they are flooded with fake emails, etc. On top of that, they charge a ton of $$ to buy them. Would definitely suggest trying to use one that someone has built organically through their site.

It will be tough to find because the owner of the list is risking losing their own subscribers if it is not well received.

I would experiment with FaceBook ads. You can get really specific with like books people like, guru's people like, etc.

I definitely want to do Facebook ads, though my first attempts at using it for this site 6 months ago was very unencouraging.
Besides Facebook ads seem to be notoriously unpredictable, (judging from threads I've browsed on this forum in my research), and I don't have a really large pile of cash to burn in trying to find out which ads work.

Do you have any recommendations for any Facebook ad experts on the forum, who I can read their threads and learn from?
Sort of like Andy Black is to Google AdWords, or Biophase is to ecommerce.

Searching the forum via the forum search function didn't yield any particular ones.

Or maybe I should create a thread to ask on the wider forum for wider input...
