Greetings!

I must start with an apology, as I've been lurking on this forum for months. It's really a poor gesture, I should know better as a Fastlaner, and I have no excuse.

I currently work in the Energy industry, and while I love the huge machines I design and the analytical/innovative projects that I lead, I feel that I am capable of so much more. While its a rewarding job (sometimes), its not going to get me to my days of flying a Beechcraft Baron to the Bahamas for a week, nor will it get me to the weekends of taking some chick I met at the bar up in my privately owned L-59, pulling Gs at 400 knots, and making her my next ex-wife.

If I'm not reading a Marketing or Sales book (because I seriously suck at it), I am putting my draft book of designs to use and building innovative products that will provide highly improved and affordable Automated Lawn Mowers (Lawn Bots), Automated Carpet Cleaning and Floor Polishing Robotics, and other automated products that will work for you while you focus on your Fastlane Roadmap or eat Cheetos and play Madden.

I am very open minded and love to learn. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions about the energy industry or robotics- if I don't know the answer, I will find it. Thanks!

Welcome , you are in a very interesting field, have seen a robot vacuum for sale at the store, seems like it could be a big emerging market, (robotics) afaik it's becoming more mainstream in japan. What do you plan on bringing to the market first?

Welcome and no need to apologize for lurking.
Sometimes it's a good idea when joining a new forum.
Energy and robots?
If you could find some way to combine the two what kind of problems could you solve?
Environmental maybe?

Hey man! Nice to meet you!
Automated housewares and landscaping machines are awesome! Roomba has dominated the vacuum market for years, but other players are starting to enter the market and Alibaba now has private label units [**free fastlane opportunity ;)**]. I see more issues (both design and social) with automated lawn mowers. The cheapest model is about $699, which isn't accessible for the majority of the middle or lower-middle class. The customer service is also poor in this market, so one way that my brand will remedy that is by opening this market up to the DIY community as well. Through research, I've seen at least 15 problems to solve through a new design. I've also kept a close ear to the consumers of this emerging market and must say that my biggest reward will be the expansion to more consumers through efficiency and affordability.

Welcome Mr. Davis!

Mr. DeMarco, I love your work, but most of all, thank you for waking up the dreamers and wantrepreneurs around the world. I started with Napoleon Hills books (TAGR and Law Of Success). I love those books, but it lead me to other self-help books and seminars that made me want to puke because they all spoke 95% attitude, 5% action. You are blessed and I hope to have a few drinks with you someday (my treat of course)!

Whoa!

That sounds amaze balls.

Are these things available, yet?

They've been available for a few years, but they are in the stage of when computers, cell phones, or flat screen monitors and televisions first debuted- they're expensive and they suck. As an innovator, this is a great but risky time to enter the market.

"Amaze Balls" I love it and Im going to have to use that lol

I admire the way you think! I have considered this and played with the idea through design and nerd-storming. Robotics are currently in use for drilling operations in Oil and Gas and Nuclear Power Generation but has so much more potential. For example, the Wind Power Generation sector is laborious because maintenance requires a lot of time and finance. Tasks such as bolt torquing, generator refurbishment, and even drivetrain service (e.g gearbox and hydraulic unit oil changes) can be replaced with automated units. Another example would be in the Solar Power Generation sector. Photo Voltaic Arrays are growing larger as increasing MegaWatt Capacity demand calls for larger panels and more acres. What happens when a sandstorm occurs in Quartzsite, AZ and the panels are covered in excess dust for 200 acres? Forget a technician on a golf cart... send out your quadruped automated bots with an attached tank of cleaning solution and squeegee/fiber assembly.

But I get the jist.
I'm sure that you could find some industry that would pay top dollar just for you do research into these ideas.
Keep moving forward Davis. I think you'll do something great.
