This past year a few important things happened in my life:

• My baby girl (who's not so much a baby anymore) graduated from college and is embarking on a great career
• I reached the pinnacle of my middle management career in software development professional services ... and, after several years of spending 8 hours of my 10 hour days in endless (boring) meetings. decided to quit and pursue a lifelong dream of copywriting for a living.

In pursuit of the dream:

So far, I have several lead gen/portoflio websites, a profile on UpWork and a couple other freelancer sites. Steadily building a reputation for excellent writing and top notch customer service.

I'm here for a few reasons:

1. To connect with like minded people. After spending years working as part of teams, it feels strange to be solo. Don't get me wrong, I'm in love with working from home and being solely responsible for my income and destiny, but a man is only as great as the people who surround him.
2. To keep up to date with the type of sales and marketing tactics that work (not the circular gibberish and back-patting ballyhoo the big name agency execs and "experts" pawn off on us as the next big thing in marketing.)
