Hello! My name is Merik I am 19 years old and an aspiring entrepreneur.

I randomly came across the MJ books on Spotify the Millionaire Fastlane is one of my favorite books to date.

I am very passionate about is nordic skiing (otherwise known as cross country skiing) for anyone who is unfamiliar nordic skiing is an endurance sport kinda like Running cycling swimming exc. (see photos and viddos below!!!)

I started late in the sport but managed to qualify for junior Nationals my señor year of high school I ran a fundraiser on go fund me and raised $8,000 to pay for all of the expenses related to the trip yes it a stupid expensive sport I could do a break down of where all the money went but I 'm already getting side tracked so I'd better move on.

That was the first and only time I had asked for help founding my skiing As a 14 year old I worked all year for whoever I could to fund my skiing dreams.

my family was not able to support my skiing aspirations My father was a heroin addict and my mother was too busy working a full time job and trying to fix my father to give my little sister and I the attention we needed Of course I don't blame her. somewhere during my junior year of high school I discovered self development and started my own addiction to podcasts and audio books, I found purpose I wanted to succeed against the odds I wanted to do something great despite the hell that I was living in I made it my mission to make the Junior National Team (Nordic Skiing) I started by simply fixing my environment cleaning my room and take better care of my hygiene

at that point I had failed about half of every class I had taken in high school and was not on track to graduate I was sent to a separate school and kicked off the ski team because my GPA had dropped below a 2.0.during the next two years I pulled my GPA from a 1.8 to a 3.2 by doing online classes in addition to my regular school work in order to meet my graduation requirements It didn't take long for me to get back on the ski team Despite what most people may assume nordic skiers train year round I worked my way up to 20 hour training weeks during the summer while working a part time job and taking online classes.

I absolutely loved it At this time I still did not own a car but I would bike everywhere, I was training with the Junior team at APU Nordic Ski Center, a program for aspiring athletes in the sport of nordic skiing APU has sent at least 1 athlete to the Olympics every cycle since 1972. this year 8 out of the 16 athletes heading to the olympics for Team USA are from the program at APU!

I loved training and getting fast and having teammates to push me every day, my father was still on heroin I left home a few months after turning 18 and soon after helped my mom also leave and find a safer place.

I don't know quite how it happened but after moving out and graduating high school things kinda started to fall apart Long story short I stopped training with APU and kinda disappeared from everyone who cared about me, most of my close friends were form the ski team and I assumed they wouldn't want to ski with me since they would be training with the team, it also became much easier to skip workouts since my new place of residence was 40 minutes away from all of the venues I preferred to train at It was easy for me to make the excuse that driving 180 minutes round trip wasn't worth it.

I also lost my job as I started to ski less naturally I started to work more My job wasn't terrible But I knew I could do better It seemed no mater how hard I worked it was nearly impossible to get recognition for my efforts unless you count the time I got a 50 cent raise to bring me from $16/h to $16.50/h whoo hoo I can buy an extra chocolate bar every day for the bike commute home! it took me a year to quit/ get fired I had a discussion with the owner and the conclusion was I should find another job.

I think it took me so long to quit because on paper that job should have been perfect I worked at a small ski shop and sold most of the skis during the winter, If I couldn't do this work then how would I ever find a job I enjoyed,.

The truth was after increasing my hours to full time it felt like my entire life was being consumed by that job I dreaded it

I have been unemployed for about 5 months At the time of quitting I had about $9,200 in savings Most of that was from flipping mini vans which is a great hustle when the market is good. I don't want to go back to a regular job I want to be able to control my time and be able to fund my skiing The truth is ever since quitting iv been spending an increasing amount time consuming stupid content online or researching and not taking action.

in the beginning I thought I wanted to be rich and buy a 992 911 turbo S mate black and show off to the world and that would make me happy but I don't think that's the goal if I was ever able to afford such a luxury yea I might buy a Porsche but what would actually make me happy is simply the ability to train I just want to get fast and get strong and get lost in the mountains of Alaska.

since my unemployment iv done quite a bit of work under the table that has kept me mostly financially stable but it all requires me to trade lots of my time I think the easiest thing for me to start would be a handyman business considering I already own lots of tools and can do basic home repair this of course wouldn't be my long term gaol but at least it would help me stack some cash and buy more time.

let me know what you guys think I also considered starting a social media page to simply document everything I'm doing but historically social media has been a problem for me. I tried to take my time writing this so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
