I'm scaling an accounting firm from 0 to $10,000 per month, and I'm documenting the journey here.
The problem I'm trying to solve is roofing business owners who are frustrated with how bad their financials are. They have no clue why they're losing money, don't know what jobs are profitable, where they're wasting money etc.
I've also noticed that a LOT of business owners also complain about how sh*t their current bookkeeper is - the bookkeepers never answer their emails, make huge mistakes that cost at tax time, lose money etc. Plus, there's also the classic complaints with how dry / boring / painful doing bookkeeping on your own is.
I plan to position myself as a premium firm, as a "CFO" that helps roofing businesses grow, where they're losing money, what marketing channels are most profitable etc. I also plan on demonstrating that I'm NOT like other bookkeepers by offering top notch service.
My current progress:
I collected market research about what roofers are complaining about, their pain points around money, bookkeeping, Quickbooks, tax etc. into a 30+ page doc. (DM me if you want it)
I've built a landing page + wrote two facebook ads and plan to start running spending $5 / day on ads to validate my offer.
I'm also studying for the Enrolled Agent exam so I can legally offer tax services to my clients.
Lastly, I'm doing the 30 Day Copywriting Challenge (read a page of copy a day, write a page, and come up with an idea) so I level up my sales and marketing.
My goal is to get my first client in the next month and hit $10k per month in six months. If anyone is in a similar niche, reach out! I'd love to exchange ideas and chat about how we can accomplish our goals.
