After years off of eBay I sold a silver numismatic set which arrived at the buyers today. It was a rare 2016 Mexican Libertad proof set with a total mintage of 250.

Fancy that, it arrives at the buyers and it is missing the most expensive piece, the 5oz coin.

I usually put writing on tape and seal it on the seams, but it has been so long since I have sold anything that I completely forgot. The buyer describes the package as being different than how I shipped it. So did the post office open it and steal a coin?????

I am not sure what to do at this point. I am in a bad spot and having this happen feels like being kicked when down. Not happy.

hey teenage and early 20s fastlaners - here's a tip for you:

You think that your lives are WAY more dramatic than they really are.

That breakup that you're still whining over? You'll forget them in a few years, or as soon as you date someone hotter.

The embarrassment over spending hundred / thousands / tens of thousands on a business venture? You'll forget about that when you find a venture that succeeds.

Getting fired from a job, getting fired by a client, etc - you will laugh about this in a few months because there are always more jobs, more clients, and more opportunities.

The main reason that any of this seems so intense is simply because you lack experience with it. When you go through this stuff (good and bad) again and again, it impacts you less and less.

And what is the point of this rant? The point is to relentlessly charge towards your goals regardless of how you feel. You'll find out later that your feelings are often annoying distractions from your goals at best and absolute saboteurs at worst.

Don't get caught up in feeling good or bad - the only thing that matters is constantly executing toward your long term goals.

It's difficult to hold the carriers accountable when they screw things up, at least that's what my experience have been so far. We used to send packages that contained edibles via a particular carrier and found that the packages were delivered with a few missing items.

Apparently, they cut open the package and took few things. This happened a couple of times and when we reported to the carrier, they simply passed the buck saying "it must be the truck drivers/delivery agents/someone at the destination hub". Infuriating!

A couple of weeks ago I bought an SSD card for a laptop from Amazon.

The package arrived but the seal had been broken and the card was missing. I got an insta-refund from Amazon and reordered from the same supplier.

Again I received the parcel but the card was missing from the box. This time Amazon wouldn’t refund me till after a lot of back and forth messaging.

They finally refunded me and I reordered from Samsung a third time. I went to the PC shop where they were going to fit the card and did an unboxing video of them opening the parcel. Thankfully the card was in the box this time.

I must follow up with Amazon and find out what the result of their investigation was.

I suspect someone in the warehouse is stealing the cards because they’re valuable and small.

So after back and forth with the buyer it looks like my package was tampered with. He sent me lots of video, and thankfully he had opened the parcel from the side and not the tape! It was opened, and then packaged again differently and very obviously tampered with.

There was also a piece of yellow chalk in the box... Super odd...

So I get to have the package shipped back at my expense, and I'll be missing the coin, and if I am lucky I get a little bit of $ back for the insurance which won't cover the whole thing because shippers hate numismatics.

I am beyond furious about how low some people are. It's a stupid game to some shipper "hahaha look what I found!". On my end it is literally groceries for my family.

You'd be surprised what goes on when nobody is looking.

People walk down the street pulling on car door handles until they find one that is unlocked. Quickly get in and steal whatever they can find - money, electronics, guns. I would bet anyone here who lives in a suburb or near a city and parks in the street or in a driveway has had their car handles pulled in the middle of the night without realizing it.

People sit in parking lots near gyms and parks and wait for women to get out and walk away. Then they smash the window and take their purse.

Along with that, they wait near day care centers and watch women in a rush to get their kids. When women leave their car running and the doors unlocked, they open it up, grab their purses within seconds, and leave before anyone realizes what happens.

They recruit women to dress up and cash checks at banks and steal thousands of dollars. Not to mention, they are driving a rental vehicle with a stolen license plate on the back of it so they are very difficult to track. Look up the Felony Lane Gang.

I've heard of many times at UPS where the workers are cutting open packages and stealing items. UPS has investigators that catch them regularly. UPS doesn't exactly have corporate level executives loading and unloading millions of packages.

We had a lady lose an entire stamp collection that was worth a lot of money after renovators were in her apartment cleaning up after water damage. There is no way to figure out who did it because the complex had several people in and out all day doing different tasks and they just say, "Wasn't me..." and that's the end of it.

There is a whole different side of society that most people don't know exists.

I once sold a baseball figurine on eBay. Bought it at a Goodwill and flipped it. The arm was broken when the buyer opened the box. He sent me pictures and it looked like they probably slammed a couple heavy boxes on top of it, which compressed my box, and crushed the plaster. I ended up giving him his money back and got the insurance back on mine. It sucks -- especially when you're counting on that money to mean something.

That’s really interesting

So Australia is higher than Saudi Arabia and UAE combined even though I know them as being such wealthy oil countries. The cities they have and the wealth that’s there puts ours to shame.

And is really close to Russia which was previously thought of as some big scary military powerhouse. Our military is a joke, I recon anyone could invade Australia right now and it would be theirs in under a week.

Australia should be so much wealthier than it is but we give away our natural resources to foreign mining companies basically for free.

And we are too woke to burn coal for power here even though we export millions of tonnes of it to be burned to make power for foreign countries. Like we live on the same planet, it’s not going to matter where it gets burned.

We give away our natural gas.

So here we are paying 40-50% tax, paying heaps for power and gas, when all the companies and countries are taking ours from us, paying no tax and laughing at us. It’s a joke.

We export coal and iron ore to China, why don’t we just make steel with it and export that.

I imagine a lot of this has to do with history and treaties, kind of like how Japan's Constitution was written by the US after WW2 and basically forbids it from having a real military.

"Your security lies somewhere on the continuum between extreme insecurity on one end, wherein your life is buffeted by all the fickle forces that play upon it, and a deep sense of high intrinsic worth and personal security on the other end. Your guidance ranges on the continuum from dependence on the social mirror or other unstable, fluctuating sources to strong inner direction. Your wisdom falls somewhere between a totally inaccurate map where everything is distorted and nothing seems to fit, and a complete and accurate map of life wherein all the parts and principles are properly related to each other. Your power lies somewhere between immobilization or being a puppet pulled by someone else’s strings to high proactivity, the power to act according to your own values instead of being acted upon by other people and circumstances." What you should eat, and how you should move. A guide:

We all have an ingrained religious/cultist pattern of behavior, and no matter what we do we seem to fall in the same trap. We feel enamored and enchanted upon our discovery of something new, and we proceed to claim it as the ultimate virtue and shove it down everybody else's throat.

Why I feel it's important to bring attention to this subject: in health and fitness the same as in all other aspects of life, we try to settle on the ideal and be done with it. But your life-force is something that doesn't easily replenish, and if you don't pay attention, the wrong approach can shave decades off of your lifespan.

What's the solution?

Stray far way from absolutism. What works for one person doesn't work for the other. The workout routine that yields results for one brings injury to the other. Your vegan diet saves you, and brings your neighbor weakness.

You see, the ideal is not a static thing. The universe is constantly in motion, and thus it is ever-changing. What is ideal then? The ideal is constant adaptation, and the antithesis of it is death. Being static is what kills you.

You want to be healthier, fitter, happier? Experiment. Endlessly. Find what works, and what doesn't work. After you've found what works, try something else, because although you have found some benefit, by your refusal to further experiment you limit your potential. Maybe you were one change away from a 10x improvement in your health, but you thought you figured it all out. It's over for me, I found what's best: Full-body workouts and plant-based diet. Cool, now try something else and see how it goes.

Whenever I see a depressed, fat, sad, angry, resentful, or poor person (or often a wicked combination of all these traits) I can immediately find in them a refusal to entertain new ideas. Being closed-minded goes against the fabric of an ever-changing Universe.

The lesson here is simple: the universe is constantly in motion, and thus you must be also. Death is refusal to adapt. Life is the continuous adaptation to change. So what should you eat and how should you move? Explore endlessly and don't ever settle on a habit/routine of either. The only habit best suited for this reality is that of continuous experimentation.

*EDIT: Try to see how this parallels with Entrepreneurship. I believe this approach brings about what we call innovation.

Learning takes place when the habitual pattern of being is altered. When you do the same thing, no matter how unsatisfactory the mode of doing may be, you have time to think and get ready. Habitual circumstances are rarely of crucial importance, so no immediate bad consequences are noticeable.

But faulty movement becomes glaringly obvious in suddenly changing conditions, similar to how emotional immaturity shows up in sharp traumatic events.

Try something new and see just how much learning your body will do, how many aches or seeming limitations you can overcome. The change will do you much good.

You’re absolutely right. I’ve noticed too, with things like workout programs, that the majority of progress happens when I start a new program or routine and eventually the progress stops or plateaus. I know this is common sense but it’s fascinating how real it is. After some time you have to try something different.

@DarkKnight sir i am 18 years old Trying to get into research field. For that i am giving entrance examination for IISER( Indian institute of science and research). Last year i passed 12th and gave 1st attempt out of 2 and got 6.k something rank in india, but didn't get a seat. Now i tried again but this year the test was harder. Now comes plan B i got admission in Bsc (NAAC rank A college in my own city). And after doing Bsc i am thinking to do Msc physics aboard. What are your suggestion regarding this?
Hi Aditya,

The good thing is that you F*cking tried. Failure is fine. Learn to get used to it as there will be many more. I fail all the time. My plan is to continue failing.

Now, what can you do about it? A lot my friend.

Target on writing 5 research papers with this degree. Its possible. I did 5. You'll have to grind your a$$ like someone's holding a pistol to your head, but get 5 papers out.

This PROCESS will cause you to meet professors, researchers and the community where research is done. This community doesn't know geographical boundaries.

This is the gap that Alexander saw at Gaugamela when he charged the Persian Centre straight at Darius. This is your ticket out.

Now the question is will you put in the work? It will seem impossible from where you are here now.

If I think too much about what is going on in the world it drives me insane.

The world has the same resources, the same people, the same landmass, significantly better technology.

And yet we play politics and whatever and allow these insane busts and crap to happen. Why???? I know I am nieve and don't understand all this, but it's all freaking man made! Why do we put up with these made up rules? We should be colonizing space for freaking sake! Instead we argue about political pressure and rate hikes and going woke. What the absolute F?????
Its madness. Cutting down entire swaths of rainforests, genocides of entire species, all the F*ck you'd think a species would never do on a planet it called home. The only F*cking place where it can live. Atleast until it's not the only place to live.

For what? Something called 'profit' to be measured in something this species created in its own hyperreality -- 'money'.

Thank You, dark knight .There was a concern about posting this after, reading," Lex Deville's 15 days to freedom make money copywriting. It can cause you to ask yourself if what you posted was wisdom others can gain , or just an emotion; a thought you get caught up in , and think it is wisdom. Nothing to LEAD other's and only proves you are a fool. That is the reason Proverbs has become my favorite book in the Bible. Almost every passage is a correction for being foolish. Words are like a wild horse that has not been tamed. The saying goes even a fool looks smart with a closed mouth. Your one like made me realize that what I posted was not so bad. I did not need to become mute.I do have room for improvement though.

Why the hell do people think the money/success has changed you when in fact it's THEM that have changed because of YOUR money/success? Like this shit is getting so damn annoying. No amount of money/success will EVER change me because I know damn well where I come from and the shit I ate and the shit I crawled through to get to where I am today.
