- You have a company that makes money already and you need 50K for a new startup? Or do you need seed money for starting business #1?
- Your company doesn't offer a service or a product? Am I missing something here...because I thought all businesses needed at least one of those two?
- Why a month?
- RichKid had some good stuff in his bootstrapping thread.

Sorry I have more questions than advice...Just a bit confused about the situation.

its cool i expected questions before answers. yea its business #1. my foot in the door is this 50k.
my company doesnt offer a product or service to the public. id like to go into detail but i wont be able to do that for right now.
id like to acquire this money in a month because theres a certain office id like to base my company out of that could bring some significant advantages.

Note: i have spoken with a few investors theyre just not willing to move forward while my company is still an idea i need to take it public first. Please i have explored all traditional avenues of getting start up money for a business im looking here for something unorthodox.

If only there was a site where I could find more relevant local investors to have coffee with and pitch ... Hmmmm.....Naa... I'll just post on FastLane and hope for an easy 50k somewhere (more than most people make in a year) http://take.ms/yjWQl

Unorthodox Approaches Worth A try:
  • Rob a bank - 200k
  • Rob your mother - $20
  • Rob your family - $1-10k
  • Rob an ATM - $50k
  • Rob a train - Items to sell on craigslist, bring a truck. $10-50k
  • Rob a luxury house - $10-100k
  • Rob a jewelry store (and tell em to make me a grill) -$50k
  • Rob a celebrity -$1,000,000

well, an overly-simplified solution would be to go to a stakeholder in your business and offer them a portion of your business for the money. For this you will need a pretty solid plan to show them.

my current plan if i cant find anything faster or easier or better is to find some credit card for people with no credit and build while at the same time ill continue to look for the right investor.

i have considered this but it is a last last resort.

Get a job at Sears - they'll give you a card just for being an employee.

That is how I first built credit.

I remember you used to be able to sell a testicle at a research hospital for over $10k - that is pretty unconventional

it does make money though i promise.

I'm a bit confused. If you are making money already, then it's proven. It's not an 'idea phase' anymore. It's just a game of getting investors to see it will scale in a big enough market and have a worthwhile positive ROI.

while my company is still an idea

This has me confused even more.

like i said investors would be the most ideal route i could possibly imagine. I search for investors often. As much as i would like to find one willing to drop money on me its beginning to seem unlikely. I posted on this forum because i think its important to explore other ways to get what i want than the traditional. But that seems to be all you can offer me.

Sorry, i'm taking this thread very lightly because I don't feel like you register how much $50k really is.

Most the investors ive spoken with are looking to invest upwards of 5 mil. I'll happily take them up on there offer once i have my company off the ground. I think you are overrating 50 grand in the business world. In fact most small business loans are looking to loan 10-50k

Tough crowd. What's a guy gotta do to give people money around here....
I'll only take your money if you also throw in a business proposal with all execution and marketing details. If not, I refuse to take your money.

There are so many things wrong here...... But, it doesn't matter. Most likely you'll give up on this and start something else easier to obtain from the start.

It is pretty traditional to expect other people to figure this stuff out for you. This is getting kinda silly.

Just remember that a good idea alone is pretty worthless. Good luck

So from what you're saying:

- Need 50K to start a company
- Can't get a loan or find investors
- No product or service (this is still VERY weird)
- Need money in a month because you want to rent a space which will provide advantages. I'm assuming the location is a place your target market frequents?

I'm now even more confused than when I first started...

This. Take a break and come back with a different mentality. Took me about 6 years. Hopefully sooner for you.
