How To Get Paid To Go To Any Sporting Event!

Fist off, yes there is an upfront cost. But within a few days (took me 5 hours) you can recoup your entire investment.

You don't need money to make money. What many people might not realize, is that you don't need to spend any money (because you get it all back) to buy tickets to a sold out sporting event. (lol)

My family is Slovak, so I wanted to support them (the team) at the upcoming IIHF Word Junior Championships. It's been a dream of mine to go to this event that happens only once a year. (Last year I was going to go to Buffalo to watch but had to cancel). But there was a problem. I didn't want to tap into my business funds, nor my savings. And these tickets don't come cheap!

4 Simple Steps to Get Tickets to ANY event and make money at the same time (sporting/non sporting, makes little difference).

1) Find a motivated seller. This is easy, as many people have a variety of reasons for why they can't attend.

2) Negotiate. I found a seller who was leaving town on business tomorrow, so I offered him a fraction of the face value of his tickets (4 side-by-side) for 4 games. (16 tickets). Face value cost: $1,600.

3) Relist Immediately. So, seeing as the tournament is less than 8 days away, I put 8 tickets (a pair for each game) for sale at 25% above face value. Sold them in a few hours and that 25% markup on 8 tickets covered the entire cost of my 4 (Kept 4 tickets, 1 for each game for myself), sold the other four to family and friends at face value and made a profit on each one. (Further explanation at the bottom)

I basically made money (~$350) and now I get to go to 4 Awesome games for free!

4) Enjoy the games/concert/whatever. :icon_super::icon_super::icon_super:

Face Value = $1,600
I paid = $1,040
I sold (12 of 16 tickets) = $1,400

$1,400 - $1,040 = $360 Cash profit + 4 free tickets!

All tickets are Row 2, Center Ice!!:hl:

Now, I know there will probably be some skepticism/haterism going on here, but it all comes down to the fact that you can CREATE your own opportunities.

After reading this post, as well as your hustlin' thread, I have to admit I am intrigued. I have been sitting on the computer at work checking for tickets and electronics for the last couple hours. Just wanted to let you know you are doing great and it seems like you are on to big things.

Good work!

I told you Ryan. The skills you learn here will help you when you go fastlane. The money you make from this will help fund your fastlane. Before you know if your going to have 25k in the bank. I can't wait to see you get into cars.... you see that $360 profit? Soon your going to do 10k into $13,600k.. you have learned the skill.. its all uphill from here.

Good job man. I deff think the main lesson is the money is out there.....you just have to have the balls to get it. You weren't afraid to make and offer, and you weren't afraid to take a chance. Keep hustlin

Thanks everyone!

Just to prove that it wasn't a fluke, I picked up 6 more pairs of tickets (12 tickets) sold half, kept 3, will sell other 3 to family/friends.

Made ~$100 on this one.

Now I'm going to 1 game, every day for the entire week of Round Robbin action!!

Tickets for the gold medal game are too much. ($600/ticket), so I'll watch that one on TV! :p

So in all, I'm getting paid $460 to go to 7 hockey games in 1 week. Got to love it!

just curious for those in USA, doing what Ryan did, couldn't it get you nailed for scalping?

Depends on local laws. Some cities only consider it illegal scalping if you are selling the tickets at the gate. Around here the face to face resellers are staked out wayyy before the gate so they do not run afoul of the law.

Game 1 of my 7 games is tonight! First time watching international hockey live. More exciting than the actual game is the fact that I made this happen. The next two years of the IIHF U20 tournament are going to be in Europe, so this is special!

Also probably going to pick up Bronze medal game tickets. (Gold is still too expensive for me)

Have a jersey, a huge flag, a little flag, and a 'soccer' style team scarf. Going to look like a clown haha.

Stealing isn't the only way to get something for free... creativity goes a long way =D

THEY WON THEY WON THEY WON!!!! No longer have a voice from screaming so much. 3-1 vs Latvia.

My seats were right next to people operating the tv cameras, and ended up having my picture taken as 'Fan of the game' to be featured in/on Hockey Canada website/magazine.

Wore a Slovak jersey, scarf, flag, painted face. Epic times are epic!

teeheehee, it just gets better and better. Time to recover and do it all again tomorrow!!!

Also made $250 profit selling something (not drugs haha) while on my way to the arena for the game!

Where I live, scalping is 100% legal, but even if you live in a place where scalping is illegal, that's still not an excuse.

Tonight I bought 20 tickets for $120. Face value is $320. Selling 1 ticket to a friend/family member for face value and that equals $160.

So $160-$120 = $40.

I'm getting paid $40 to enjoy 10 hockey games for free from now until March.

This is so easy.

One last thing;

If you don't want to do all of the above (it's not hard, but still..) here's something I noticed. Today is the day of the bronze and gold medal games. People are starting to panic and have dropped their prices (some even to bellow face value). Herein lies the opportunity. If you're a miser and don't want to shell out big money to go to the big games, just wait until the day of and find someone that's needing to sell. Easy.

I was also talking to a ticket reseller the other day. And what I didn't know is that most of the time you can get tickets for at or even bellow face value to most events (concerts, sporting, etc) from these people.

What they do is obtain tickets from brokers that have unsold batches (or returned corporate extras) and receive a 3 way split on commission for every ticket they sell. So they make money no matter what price they sell them to you for. (at least that's how it works for the people I've talked to).
