You just went full retard. What's next? You're going to use a hacker to crash your competitors website if they outdo you?
I'm not judging or saying you were wrong in what you did but if it's that easy to misrepresent your product it would be a better idea to improve rather than worry about one measly video, all it did was expose a weakness you can work on(how was it able to get on the 2nd result?) and if you're really confident in your product this shouldn't be a problem.
This is the difference between bringing yourself up vs putting others down.
That makes 0 sense, and I say that respectfully.Lmao, this is funny af.
On serious note: This isn't necessarily good for you in the long term. You're teaching yourself shortcuts instead of rising above obstacles.
Out of curiosity, where did you find your hacker? The dark web?Update: Problem solved

He didn't admit to anything illegal. Sounds like just doing something against ToS of a website possibly.
Fight fire with fire I say. Just don't be stupid. Also don't let it distract you too much. When you focus on all the losers and competition, you tend to lose focus on building your business.
Takeaway here is: You need to work on your SEO. Some rogue link or video shouldn't be able to reach #2 for a search and cause this problem in the first place. Get more links, reviews, articles, videos, etc. Do you have a video showing the product correctly? If not... get on it!

& also did you pay him in cyprocurrency?
I started a thread on Reddit asking for the services of an Ethical Hacker. I got like 10 PMs and sorted through the BS.Out of curiosity, where did you find your hacker? The dark web?

I'm not sure how he did it, but im glad that he did."Dark Web" is a blanket term for areas the public can't access without special software or access. This is like 80% of the entire internet and composed of internal company databases and password protected areas.
What you're referring to is the place where people buy and sell super illegal....things. (I'll leave out the keywords).
What OP purchased was most likely a click farm, which are super easy to find. Implementing your own is also easier than you think, and doesn't require you to hijack other peoples computers.
They accept Paypal

I payed via PayPal. Apparently people do this stuff for a living because they all mentioned me sending them some type of statement stating that I gave them permission to put in the work for me.
I'm not sure how he did it, but im glad that he did.
If you dont mind me asking, what is a click farm?
its not that serious lolMight want to delete the thread. Admission of illegal activity on a public forum is usually not a smart move.

The mere presence of that video was a detriment to my brand, as it gave potential customers the wrong idea about the product.
The only option that would benefit me was to have it removed, and that is what I had happen. There's nothing noble about letting that video remain online.
It was a rhetorical question. I don't see myself as morally superior at all. I never even said you were wrong. You just went full retard.
- You're implying that I think that hacking is the solution to all problems. That's YOUR brain at work.
- Ive created plenty of content (in my case, infomercials) for Youtube. The video ranking second was out of my control.
- If someone is coming between me and my prospective customer and redirecting the focus, then my confidence means nothing. You're using child logic
Bringing myself up vs putting someone else down? What are you even talking about?
It sounds to me like you see yourself as some type of morally superior business entity, and right now you're getting off on wagging your finger at me. You said nothing of substance.
Blah blah blahIt was a rhetorical question. I don't see myself as morally superior at all. I never even said you were wrong.
The confidence thing means your product is so good you don't really have to worry about being misrepresented by one video because word of mouth will spread. It's not childish, one video shouldn't have that much influence over people's perception of your product anyway.
Atleast that's the approach I take, I'm not worried about my competition but do whatever you want.
I was wondering how it was done. Was thinking breaking into the Youtube account and deleting the upload would of been pretty amazing/worrying.Basically a bunch of people in Asia performing a certain action. Upvoting a post, for example.
What your guy did was a private botnet if I had to guess. He spoofed his IP and other info to make it look like there were multiple people flagging the video.
