Would you donate to hiking or biking trails?

As a mountain biker and hiker, sometime when I am done riding or hiking a trail I say to myself, "That was an awesome trail." Sometimes, but not often, I do think about the work it took someone to build that trail and also the cost of someone to maintain it. Biking trails rarely require any permits or fees to ride on. It would be nice if I could give $5 or $10 to the maintenance of the trail or sort of as a tip for being such a good trail.

So the idea popped into my head about maybe starting a site that allowed people to donate money to the trails that they enjoyed. It would be a charity like site, where the proceeds would go to the BLM or the county or whoever maintains a certain trail.

What do you guys think? Do you think this idea has any legs?
