Last year I attended a coding bootcamp. On the first day, the instructors showed us this picture. They said their mission was to get people to Advanced Beginner as soon as possible -- the popularized milestone of the course. The anticipated realization of "Oh sh*t, I really don't know what I'm doing." I found it to be extremely accurate. Even though I started off thinking "Yeah, this is gonna be hard", I wasn't really fully aware how much so until midway. But once I became fully conscious of how little I knew about programming, that's where the fun began.
