what is your guys' take on this:
should I read more about businesses and study finance at this age or should I slowly build my financial iq and focus more on learning about useful skills like web designing for example I'm really into basketball/fitness right now.

If I was 13, Id focus on sorting out all the non business things in my life. You could learn code/webdesign and whatever else you can think of if you can stick with it. Getting good at growing social media pages is also a good one.

Besides that, talk to girls, exercise and build yourself a good body. Also make sure to eat like 5 bears while avoiding junk food. Having good nutrition and a caloric surpuls will make your grow taller and become smarter (possibly). And, above all else, be grateful that you came across this way of life at such a young age.

Business only really starts at age 18, when you can own a bank accound and register a company. Everything before that is pregame. If you sort out everything you can during pregame then you are years, maybe decades ahead of the other people.

Love it that you're focusing on building your financial future! Try to get the basics right first! Read books on financial literacy like budgetting, taxes, insurance and other financial literacy stuff.

I recommend this book. It teaches you about basic finances. Other than that, read business books like rich dad poor dad, MJ DeMarco's books, and other business books that idk of.
Increase your knowledge and be sure to exercise. Remember that knowledge is power

-Learn the fundamentals of businesses and how they grow*
-See if you can find a business idea that you can do even as a 13 year old (i.e. that your parents will allow, isn't illegal at your age, people will support, etc)
-Learn other skills - get at least a basic education, practice introducing yourself to others (hi my name is ___, what's your name?), learn how to carry on a conversation (FORD method?), get in some exercise (10 pullups, pushups, and squats before you bathe everyday?), join a hobby (where you can make in-person friends and practice socializing, etc).

*It seems like most companies are born within companies. If you work in a business, see how it works, then you can more easily branch out, get your own clients/customers, then scale gradually. If you've never worked in the sort of company you want to build, it's a lot harder to connect the dots on your own. The internet and wealth of knowledge out there can help compensate for that though. My point is, challenge yourself and learn as much as you can, but if you're having trouble connecting the dots, it might be because of a lack of work experience...don't use this as an excuse though!

Edit - Just found this thread...an easy example of a business idea you might be able to start in your area this week.
