After hearing about this book, I decided I'd go and read it, fully expecting some broke guru explaining to me how to get rich, of off the stock market or something like that. I was very surprised to see this guy passing the 'if you're so smart, how come you ain't rich yet?' test and totally addressing the framework of the millionaires mind, discourse is more important than most people realize.
Now, I'm a bit over halfway, in a day or two, reading in between studying for my test and I decided to look up the forum.
Now some more about me, I'm a 20 year old history student from the Netherlands. I get good grades, but only after I made the conscious decision to get them up to well above average. My curiosity knows almost no bounds, that's also the reason that I decided to study history; you can't believe how much clearer your view gets about the world and about people after getting into history.
Furthermore, I've been playing guitar for about 8 years now and am also a producer of electronic music. I released two (free, no-one actually buys music do they?
) EPs last year, and am in the process of releasing my first full-length album. (I'll be happy to link to the music, but I'd rather not do that unsolicited on my first post!)
I am fully committed to start working like hell to achieve the freedom I want. I'm known as someone who perseveres and I want to start the second I graduate; I'm the kind of guy that sets a goal and does not let go before it's finished. Now, this is important information I think: If I don't finish my college-education I'll be creating debt, that's cause we Dutch students are gifted a certain amount to help pay for our (already pretty low) tuition on the condition we actually finish the damn courses.
As for this forum, you already sort of know my motivation. I want to gather as much knowledge as possible to get me going, to get me a headstart at life so to speak. If, in the meantime my music happens to create a fastlane opening I'll be glad to share everything about how that goes and how I created it. In the meantime you'll probably see me lurking the forums.
Oh totally forgot: My job experience might be relevant for you guys. I've had a little experience with administrative work at a riding school for disabled kids where I worked for free; learnt a little about databases and excel etc. My main work experience is a job I take every summer, which is very rewarding. I help out older folks, cleaning their houses, doing their shopping, because their usual help is on vacation around that period. Pays pretty good, I get about double what my friends get in half a day than what they do in a full day.
That said, that's not a viable, full-time career, entrepreneurship is.
