Hi guys.

In the last few weeks, after I watched a video on YouTube and I talked with a friend, I started to get interested about consulting firms.
My goal is still to start my own fastlane business and to impact the life of million people; but I started to think that entering a MBB consulting firm for a couple years would be a great way to make experience and to meet a lot of people, which would both be useful for my entrepreneurial journey. Doing that, I would have the opportunity to work for very different kinds of businesses in different industries and in different countries, it might also be a great way to find a problem I could solve with my business.
I'm currently studying for a bachelor's degree; to enter one of those firms I would have to continue with an expensive master's degree in a top university in Europe after I graduate.

All of this sounds reasonable to me but, thinking more about it, it sounds a lot like slowlane (even if it wouldn't be a definitive job, but I'd do it to gain experience and to save money for my future business). Of course, I would also try to start my own business in my free time while studying, I wouldn't just stay on books in the next years.

Am I becoming a slowlaner or do you think it's a good path to choose?

IMO getting a job as a stepping stone to the fast lane, isn't slow lane.

You'd be able to meet so many new people, businesses, opportunities, connections and possibly even problems. I've read about a Fast laner who was a banker but conversed with a myriad of business titans who came to the bank to learn from them, such knowledge can be invaluable.

So long as you don't stay forever, and you can work on your venture on the side. I'd say it's a brilliant choice!

As long as you make daily progress on your entrepreneurial hustle, it's okay to study and work on the side. Keep the main thing the main thing

Hey man!

Basically, om on a similar path. I just get started on September first in a regional small consulting Company which I chose over a big one in order to learn fast and from an experienced mentor directly, basically valuing aducation over money. Besides that, I study part-time on Saturdays in Frankfurt and use Sundays as my self-education projects on Coursera or Udemy, my hope is that this experience will later leverage my own career in expanding the consulting firm and maybe add other fields like investing (since I have a finance background) or online educational content like digital seminars and stuff... But back to you, I think in a field where market barriers are high and a degree serves as a confirmation that you are an experienced guy, you (or shall I say we) are on the right path !

May the force be with us :)
