I joined here a couple of weeks ago & already got so much value from reading many of the topics, so thank you all!

I'm 19 years old & came up with a (IMO) value bringing service for e-commerce businesses.
The concept is 360-degree product images WITHOUT hiring a photography studio. 360-degree product images have shown to increase store conversion rates by as much as 47%. The problem I saw in the way things are done currently via old fashioned photography was that the turnaround time is pretty slow (around 14 days) & the cost of top studios specialised in this field (e.g. snap36.com) is at about $350 minimum for a simple product like a watch. Interesting concept, I am working on the implementation right now.

When I read your post I was a but dubious, but looking at your site it looks pretty realistic.

My questions (as an ecom retailer) would be

  1. do i need a plug in / coding to display them on my website (if so will you make plugins/apps for the top platforms?)
  2. Will you do bulk discounts for multiple products?
  3. How can you guarantee getting a product life like and to scale, what's the process? what do you need from me?
  4. I know it starts from $99 and you need to do a quote, but i'd recommend having some examples with example pricing - I don't want to give you all my details to find out my product is $500 not $99 etc...
The site is okay, it needs more case studies, more covering of the process, what do I have to do etc.

Otherwise looks really interesting, hope you do well with it!

2. How do I get my first clients? I am already working on compiling a huge mail merge list in Google Spreadsheets, sending e-commerce shops founders personalised emails. Also thought about finding a way to partner with all those e-commerce gurus, pretty much selling the shovels & giving their followers a great deal. Another idea was messaging Amazon sellers. I am also running an Instagram bot in the background, targeted towards people that like posts of, e.g. Ezra Firestone, Alex Becker etc.
The question is, what should I focus on? What brings me results the fastest?
I think you should have plug ins made for woocommerce, magento, shopify etc... if its just a HTML viewer then it should be pretty easy but then you can target people per platform and it looks like it's a whole lot easier. Give the plug in away for free so they can easily display the 3D pictures once they have them created at a cost.

Can you display 360 on Facebook? (well at least you can make a video) If so then target people who like those platforms with a 360 ad... to be honest if I saw it as an ad I may have actually clicked that to find out more.

I think this is a great idea: creatives drive performance and anyone who sells on Amazon will tell you - the images does most of the heavy lifting when converting a prospect into customer.

Run FB ads and target EVERY e-commerce platform! The possibilities are endless :)
Thank you for your feedback, Sanj! I don't really have a lareg budget right now when it comes to running ads, so I am trying to focus on free methods right now until I generate profit that I can put back into advertising.

How about starting an affiliate scheme where you give X percent per order away to people who promote it for you?

There are quite a few ecommerce, business etc blogs, it's a pretty unique and interesting concept so any blogger gets a win win with interesting content + potential affiliate commissions.

Low cost but a bit of manual work involved.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it! Regarding your questions:

1. Most CMS have already amazing plugins out there to display 360-degree product images. Wordpress/Woocommerce has Sirv & multiple other ones, Shopify has the Magic360 spin plugin (absolutely free). Magento has 360 Product Viewer, so I think most major CMS already have great solutions for displaying 360-degree product images.
2. Yes, of course, bulk discounts for multiple products will be done. Do you think I should picture that clearly on the website as well?
3. The only thing that's needed is high-quality product images from all angles. Meaning you take pictures with your phone (which normally has a good enough camera) in 4-6 angles with good lighting. Then the 3D designer looks at them and recreates a 3D model based on that.
4. That's a great idea, thanks for the advice! I will implement that on the website!

How do you suggest going about a case study? I don't have any clients so far, so who should I take as my case study example? :) I also noted the whole "covering the process more", will start implementing right away!

Thank you!!!

I think there is already lots of 360 viewers out there, and developing a plugin takes time & costs money. Yes, I should try out FB ads on a low budget like 5-10 bucks a day (is it worth it?).

That is brilliant!!! I know how to implement affiliate plugins into my site so that shouldn't be a problem at all. Then just reach out to bloggers (maybe even YouTubers that focus on e-commerce & small biz)... Incredible stuff, this is GOLD!!!

Thanks! So:

1. Have you tried holding down your mouse & dragging it across? Which browser are you using?
2. Yes, we can deliver them in virtually any size you want. I think 1080p should be standard, but for a little extra cost 4k or even 8k is possible (extra costs because rendering takes way longer).
3. No size limits, I think it could get tricky with t-shirts and apparel but most items should work 100%!

It's probably worth a page on your site then just to make it clear.

"Ultimate Guide To Displaying 360 Degree Product Images On Your eCommerce Website"

that should eventually rank quite well for people looking for 360 degree product images too..

Can you speak to all the existing plug in makers and see if they'll list you as a resource to get the images created? Partnerships can help both parties and generally don't cost anything/much. They want people to use their app so if they don't have their own solution/product then helping them promote a turnkey solution is another win win for them.

One more questions though, right now I have this instant quote calculator
on my website. The thing is I'm only calling it INSTANT right now because I thought it would make people more inclined to click on it rather than having a normal quote form where they have to wait for a few hours for a response. The instant quote calculator is only instant right now because it gives out a standard dummy number at the end & tells you we will get back to you soon with the exact quote. Do you think I should discard the INSTANT from the calculator and just tell them straight up they will get a quote within 24 hours?

People don't like waiting and they don't like putting details in without knowing roughly what it's going to cost.

Plus if you really want to scale it then you need to find a way to productise it.

What's your process to create the quote?

Can you automate it?

Can you create tiers? possibly if your product is X high by X wide then the cost is Z? or do you need to know the intricacies of the item.

The sample products and pricing will really help to be honest as people can compare their requirement with a sample then they know roughly what it'll cost - that should filter out dreamers and make your leads warmer as they will be completing the quote form with a realistic price in their minds.

There are few ways to market that. All the traditional, run traffic, make calls etc. I think you will get a lot of these from other guys, so I will not go in too many details about this.

One of the more interesting ways and I saw it work in practice, although in a lot smaller local market in one niche, so e-commerce would be a bit different animal, but it's possible.

So the idea: Create your own market.
So what I would do, I would connect with some of the bigger players. Don't know how deep can you go, but basically contact shops who are most on the sight - biggest Amazon sellers, biggest Shopify stores etc. More you can cover ASAP the better.
And do this for free for them... Ask them to give you a credit in exchange.
If you can hit competitors its even better.

What will happen... Now after some time, they all have 3d pics for their old product, but then new products come... If your tool work like you say it does - they will need 3d pics for them as well, plus all the competitors have it so they can't lose the edge.

If you hit the right shops it should start a trend and smaller players will start using it too, after they see the credit and competitive advantages of your tool.

You could do it niche by niche, but I don't think you have that much time so you have to scale fast :)

So... If you have a good product, can protect it somehow from copycats as long as possible, go with all the routes - social media ads, influencers, affiliate, emails etc :D

Good point. I will look into this, I can definitely create rough pricing tiers, but I'll need to look for a tech/saas tool that calculates everything in the backend. Could get complex but I'll find a way.

Thanks! Yes, up and down is also possible, the zoom function should already be integrated on the website when you click on a specific area of the 360 image. Not sure if it works on mobile though...

Neat idea!

How did you find the 3D designers? How long does the order take?

If it's fast I could pitch it to my ecommerce clients.

Nice one, you don't hang about.

Some good changes!

I'd suggest changing "Our Process" to "How It Works" and put it as a top level category.

On the how it works page either add one step to the process before the others which is along the lines of "send us some mobile phone pictures of your product" (in better words of course) or make the first step clearer on the initial action required by the customer.

If you could change the green background to a picture of a 3d render on a computer monitor with a person working that'd be good too as it adds a bit more realism and trust!

How It Works > Pricing > About > Resources [instant quote]

Then I'd add a footer and with contact details and links etc. the call to action is to do an instant quote online so I'd move the contact below the fold personally.

I think there is still work to be done, some visual improvements etc but it's pretty good.

Make sure you have google analytics event tracking on form submissions and run some ads, see what happens!

I checked the quote calculator out as well, really good..!

Only thing I'd say now is I've got my price and I can put my details in, but then what?

Are you going to email me asking for pictures? are you going to email me a copy of the quote? is the "final" quote going to differ to this price?

I think at this stage you should ask for a sample image to be uploaded and sent so you can finalise the quote if that is the next step of the process. Ask for email, name and upload a picture of the item so you can finalise the quote.

At this point I'd have $200 in my head and be happy with it give or take a bit, (otherwise I wouldn't give you my email address) but I'd need a clear call to action for the next step of the process to continue. Oh and make sure the quote doesn't come back way more than the guideline I've now got in my head...

And why are the source files a lot more? If I don't buy them will you use them elsewhere? sell on? Or does it physically cost you more to send them to me? - this can be very important as people don't want their product 360 shots ending up in competitors hands.

Turnaround time is under 5 days, a usual product photography studio takes over 14 days for the same thing for a higher price. :)

I put in the store URL instead of a picture because most (all) e-commerce websites have product photos, right? That way they don't have the effort of snapping a pic & I can just look at the store & see what kind of products they have to give them a 100% accurate quote. It wouldn't differ much if any from the instant quote though, it's just to be sure we don't take on a product that is super complex where we can't provide the service for the set price.
but I'd need a clear call to action for the next step of the process to continue. Oh and make sure the quote doesn't come back way more than the guideline I've now got in my head...

No, the source file wouldn't be sold to any third part. Should I make that clear in the FAQ maybe? The reason why I put up the price so high for the source file is because they can also also use it to create photorealistic product shots etc. I was thinking about later (when the main business is up & running at a decent scale) making an upsell offering photorealistic product images (3D rendered). Maybe the price is too high for now, not sure...

Thank you!!!

First off, I think the idea is great and I totally see the value in it. I'd even consider being a customer. But personally I would never pay more for source files. I am paying for you to make me the files, I should own the files not you.

What I would do is offer photorealistic product photos at a lower price than the 360 shots and upsell the 360 shots. It gives the 360 shots more value skews. Source files included, product photos included. Even though it doesn't cost you a dime extra or take any extra time.

Not a fan of the font used on the website, but with a little boost in the web page design, it would look a lot cleaner! Awesome business idea though! Hope those clients are coming in!! :)

2. Yes, we can deliver them in virtually any size you want. I think 1080p should be standard, but for a little extra cost 4k or even 8k is possible (extra costs because rendering takes way longer).
3. No size limits, I think it could get tricky with t-shirts and apparel but most items should work 100%!
For questions 2 and 3 I was suggesting you put this information on your website.
