I was reading today about moving from a consumer mentality to a provider one.
In the same time, I was paying for my web hosting account.
Then I've got an idea. Why don't I switch from my hosting package (which I use mostly for email) to a reseller package?
It's only $10/extra per month. Now, I don't want to start a business out of this, but I can serve 25 clients.
What I've thought is to offer free hosting to new start-ups in exchange of having a banner to my website or affiliate banner.
I'm paying only $15/month and I'm getting several back-links and maybe a good traffic source back. A good deal, considering that I can use my own websites on the same package.
What I'm concerned about is the technical difficulty of this feat.
If I want to achieve this, what will be the learning curve?
The steps required are:
1. Become a re-seller.
2. Provide free hosting as long as they include a back-link to my website of choice or an email signature.
3. Give them their own cPanel and specify in advance that I DO NOT PROVIDE ANY CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
Is this a hard feat to accomplish or it's just as easy as it seems?
