I agree with you 100%. But what kinds of things do you do/go on in your mind when it's more than just you??
Sometimes I picture myself on the front lines in Iraq and imagine what it would be like to be one of the brave souls dodging bullets, missiles, and such and remember that they are fighting for me and my freedoms.
Then I try to remember that no matter what happens, it is a learning experience.
It's getting over the voices in your head (maybe I'm schitzo??) that is one of the hardest parts.
What do others do to get through the trials and tribulation and the fear of losing everything, not eating, etc...???
