I received a few messages asking questions about how to find good ideas so I decided to post this.
Are you tired of making someone else rich? Tired of giving your time (your most valuable asset) in exchange for biweekly, insignificant paychecks? Of living a mediocre life and not being able to afford most of the things you want? Since you're on this forum, I'm sure the answer is YES. Well, then it’s time to start your own business, and put an end to your misery.
No matter who you are, you only have 24 hours in a day, THAT’S IT!
It doesn’t matter if you’re broke, if you’re rich, if you’re in college, if you’re out of college, all that you have are 24 hours in a day and you better use those wisely, if you want to succeed.
Before delving in more detail about how to do this, I want you to clear your mind of any misconception that you might have about money and remove any self doubt, or negative thoughts from your mind. In order to succeed, you have to completely change your mindset.
You don’t need to be the sharpest tool in the shed in order to go beyond your wildest expectations. You don’t need amazing talents and good looks. Your social status, popularity level and who you know are useless as well. Those that have that in their life, are most likely already successful.
What about your formal education, your grades, extra curricular activities and the fact that you got fired for doing something really inappropriate? You guessed it, they don’t matter, they’re insignificant.
All you need in order to survive and thrive, and have everything you ever wanted is: focus, determination and concentration.
The subject of starting a business is quite vast so I'm only going to focus on the essentials, or on the foundation. The concept is quite simple: if you want to keep getting what you’ve been getting, keep doing what you’ve been doing, but if you want to see a change, it can only happen if you initiate the change!
Most people want to be successful, but they don’t want it bad enough. They’re not willing to sacrifice anything in order to achieve success. They don’t want it more than they want to party, or as much as they want to be cool, or to fit in, sleep or whatever else they enjoy doing. They will not give up their hobbies, comfort and fun, in order to achieve victory.
In almost every single case, wealth is not an event, but rather a process that involves a lot of hard work, perseverance and sacrifice. This theme appears many times on the forum. Don’t just hope for a miracle without taking the necessary steps to reach that miracle. If you skip the process, you won’t reach your goal. You will only keep dreaming.
Never blame others for your misfortune, and for your problems!
Oftentimes, individuals blame it all on good or bad luck, but what they don’t understand is that luck is something that always favors the prepared mind.
Thinking that people get rich because they are lucky is a very faulty way of thinking. You should completely erase that belief from your mind. That mindset implies that life is directed by some invisible force and that you don’t have control over anything.
Now that we got that covered, let’s talk business. What idea should you choose? What field should you go into? Should it be an online business or offline? Where do you raise money to start it?
The answer is simpler than you imagine: it doesn’t matter!
It doesn’t matter what field you pick or what idea you have (there are exceptions of course) as long as you back it up with action and passion. If you take daily action in achieving your goal, it’s impossible for you to fail in the long run.
A word of advice though: don’t count on motivation. In most cases, your motivation will disappear very shortly after starting something, but you must continue taking daily action even when you feel like giving up. That alone is what separates success from failure, or warrior from peasant.
Success requires hard work, discipline, and delayed gratification. Seek victory, not pleasure. Be patient and you will come out on top.
Think of business in terms of NEEDS, not money. Never focus on the money aspect of business. Try to see what people need and come up with a service or product to satisfy that need. By doing so, success is guaranteed. The better you fulfill their needs, the more prosperous your business will be.
Now go and start looking for needs. They’re everywhere. People are needy!
