I dug pretty hard for a thread about this and couldn't find one. If I am missing it, feel free to let me know and lock this thread down.
Being a tutoring business, we rely mainly on referrals. Mom's talking about how their kid is finally succeeding is the BEST advertising that we can get. And it's FREE!
We don't HAVE to offer anything because the few that we do have seem to be happy enough to refer us, however, I was trying to come up with something that will make them REALLY want to talk about us.
I have in mind a few basic things:
-A free lesson for every buying customer ($50 value) (obviously the businesses wouldn't care for that)
-$40 for every buying customer
-A prize for every buying customer (gift cards, etc.)
-$40 to their charity of choice for every buying customer
The big question is this...what is legal and what is not for these two types of referrals:
-Current customers referring buying customers (Moms talking to other Moms)
-Businesses referring buying customers (babysitting agency referring their clients)
