Hi all -
I have a solid idea (in my mind) that I believe solves a problem and that people would pay for at the right price point. I could easily get a 3d rendering made of the product - but don't have a provisional patent, a working prototype, or even any manufacturer communication made yet (so don't know rough per unit costs on that front). Question:
Is there any downside to doing this? My mind has been split between first building a working prototype or getting a rendering done and testing demand via a sales page/facebook ads. Is there any risk to do doing this if I'm just collecting emails for when the product is ready? Not preorder payments, etc.
Secondly, I'm not sure yet if I'd want to manufacture the product myself or license the idea to people who could add it to their products. If there is no real downside, is this method recommended?
