Photo Booths for Hire/Rent: Opportunity or Diminishing Market?

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

If you are still searching for that side hustle or even new business idea then this could be it. I have posted in side hustles because this is mostly done at weekends and in the evenings.

Photo booths are a very popular addition at weddings, events and celebrations. It is a simple setup that captures pictures and prints them off instantly for the guests or customers. I am in England and hire these photo booths out at £415 for 3 hours. I then charge extra for travel outside of a 25 mile area.

What do you need to start doing this?
1 photo booth frame that can be found used online within these community groups
Touch screen self contained pc which can also be found second hand
Software, Sparkbooth or Dark room booth
DSLR Camera also used 1200d canon or 1300d canon is fine with continuous power adapter
A dye sub printer, I recommend this being new as you get warranty
A box full of props which can be found on ebay

£2,500 is the max you will be required to spend to make this happen

Then understand your setup and know how to operate it and fix issues on the go. Advertise yourself to brides, birthdays etc and off you go.

Interesting, I would think that photo related services would be endangered because everyone now carries a camera on their person. Something like this would strike me as a diminishing market and not something I'd like to enter.

However I can be perfectly wrong and it could be a nice "rental" business.

Do you say this based on observation, or data?

In my experience, these are very popular, and the new ones actually utilize the customers' phones! Even better for the owner - they don't need to invest in a camera, just the overall "setup."

To really supercharge this one, you might put a spin on it and franchise the model...?

I was shocked to realize how simple some franchises are. Here's a good example (SUPER popular, and super simple):

That's spectacular news, which means it has productocracy like qualities. When a wedding guest sees the popularity with other guests, they will want it for their wedding, or tell friends who are soon to be wed.

Then it builds and builds...

I currently operate 6 of these, the best part is everyone takes away their photo with your company name on and puts in on their fridge etc. This is my most popular rental item that I own.
