Opinions about Depop

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

Hey forum,

Have any of you tried: Depop - The creative community's mobile marketplace
What is your opinion?
Do you know how it works? Is it worth it?
Do they take a percent cut or?
It requires a registration to access the offers, which to me seems counter productive if I want to sell on their platfrom.

Hello alexkuzmov,
I have used Depop before and I’m going to be honest.
When you start off selling it is hard to get a real following, you have to stay engaged with people around who are interested in your items. You cant just go and sell any brand and expect to make a lot from it. For example, Nike, Adidas, Champion, Gucci, Versace are some brands people look for. You can upload up to 4 photos and 1 video showing the item your selling, the description reminds me of instagram but you can use up to 5 hashtags. There are color options and subcategories so if your item is an accessory or something that is not clothing you can pick that. Also there is a save to draft button as well. They do take a %10 fee from your sales. They do have options to do shipping on your own as well. I’ve sadly only made one sale on the app my depop is @brimeoutlet

If you have a following from a social media platform you can sell out easily/quickly on Depop, im assuming its the UK version of PoshMark? Which works the same if you already have a big SM following.

Starting from scratch will naturally be hardly.
