Howdy,
I've finally made the move to Alberta. I now live on a ranch about an hour from Calgary with 10 horses, 8 cats, 1 dog, and 30 acres of undeveloped land. (I have no intention of staying here, and have a strong desire to move closer to the city...the drive is far too long).
I've been guaranteed a job at $22/hr (the standard entry level job here is $9-$10/hr) so I'll be able to build twice as much start up capital, in half the time.
In any city, where would you go to meet like minded people (people interested in real estate, business, paper assets)? I haven't the slightest clue where to go.
The main industries here are Oil & Gas, Agriculture, and Tourism all of which I am interested in.... I just don't know where to find these people, short of walking up to the front door of the various companies' headquarters :smx4:
(I only know a grand total of three people in this city, and none of them are of any help)
I'll be attending some type of business/accounting university program next fall, but I'd like to get started networking now, to hopefully land partners for real estate deals, etc.
Any insight is much appreciated,
Ryan
