This book is not a business in a box demonstration of how to become wealthy. MJ isn't going to teach you how to write code and become a millionaire by developing a website. This book is a call to action! The few who do give it low ratings are simply waiting for someone to hold their hand and walk them through the process of becoming wealthy. "This book didn't tell me what to do!" Really? If you can actually finish this book and not have a new found sense of direction then you were too busy looking for the cake and completely ignored the recipe in the pages. MJ delivers his message masterfully in one of the better pieces of writing that I have read in some time. He is passionate about his message, which comes off to some as arrogant. He loves his Lamborghini and the fastlane is analogous of his love for fast cars. He ties his passion for cars to his message and again, it is perfect! Much better than reading about someone's fictitous wealthy father figure if you ask me.
The few critics say he was lucky to know code, create a website, and sell before the dot com bubble burst. I've never met anyone lucky enough to know anything at birth. Was he lucky to have made the decision to learn code? Was he lucky to have the drive to create a website? He sold out and made some money, but what the critics fail to mention is the fact that he bought the website back when the buyers failed, revamped it, and sold it again for much more. Does that sound lucky to you? No wonder most people will never feel "lucky".
If you feel a longing for a different life and have the tenacity to make concrete changes then buy the book. If you prefer to make excuses and settle for the life you have or you are looking for a book to pull you by the nose and lead you to wealth then you should keep looking. You'll probably be looking for a very long time and even if that book did exist then you will be one of countless others following the fiddler.
