<div class="bbWrapper">I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on this,<br /> <br /> The scenario is you have a service which will benefit prospective businesses with their marketing most specifically it puts demos of their products in potential customers hands. Although you have little experience in this field you have the determination and the platform in place to to make this work. <br /> <br /> My question is essentially how best , in your experience is it approach established businesses with a service and to convince them that you are worth the risk?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Take the risk out of it for them and prove it to them. If/when you prove valuable, they will pay up and you&#039;ll have a track record to show new clients.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">As Tiger said + make it appear that you already have clients and other interested parties. No one wants to be first, unless they are very enlightened.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><blockquote data-attributes="" data-quote="roark" data-source="post: 191393" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-title"> <a href="/community/goto/post?id=191393" class="bbCodeBlock-sourceJump" rel="nofollow" data-xf-click="attribution" data-content-selector="#post-191393">roark said:</a> </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-content"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandContent js-expandContent "> make it appear that you already have clients </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandLink js-expandLink"><a role="button" tabindex="0">Click to expand...</a></div> </div> </blockquote><br /> How do you do that?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">You Lie... Which is not a good way to start a business.<br /> <br /> Or you can tell them they are the first and that is why you are going to give them an awesome deal..<br /> <br /> People will believe in your idea, product or service, or they wont.<br /> <br /> How to get ahold of them, if they are local, walk in ask for them, very seldom will you be thrown out.. <br /> <br /> If not local. call.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><blockquote data-attributes="" data-quote="JackEdwards" data-source="post: 191405" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-title"> <a href="/community/goto/post?id=191405" class="bbCodeBlock-sourceJump" rel="nofollow" data-xf-click="attribution" data-content-selector="#post-191405">JackEdwards said:</a> </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-content"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandContent js-expandContent "> You Lie... </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandLink js-expandLink"><a role="button" tabindex="0">Click to expand...</a></div> </div> </blockquote><br /> Get about 5-10 decision makers on the phone or in person and propose. Then you can tell the others who you are also talking to (competitors ?). No need to lie if you have a few business friends from your local chamber, offer them the service one time for free as a try-out and you can mention them perpetually.<br /> <br /> Good luck.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I have a product/service right that I&#039;m selling right now and what we&#039;re doing is letting our customers try the product for one month risk free. It&#039;s hard to turn down something free. If they don&#039;t like it they give it back. If they like it they buy it. If you truly believe that your service is beneficial then this could be an excellent way to get started until you have a list of satisfied customers. Then it should spread quickly after that by word of mouth.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Let me take a crack here:<br /> No need to lie about your existing customer base. Use a line like this, &quot;I have a system that has worked for over ### of bussinesses in your industry&quot;. I am of course assuming you learned this method from someone. Just utilize thier results and experience without saying you pioneered. Also talk about how much revenue it has been able to generate.<br /> As for taking the risk out, you are going to do this as a partner or commissioned only sales rep to start. So you tell owner for every dollar of profit you bring in above what they are currently making, you will split 50%. You will trust owner to pay you on their earnings. Do not try to look at their books. You are both taking a risk, but you need to make it easy for them. <br /> Once you are established you can get referrals etc. Then you can start charging say $3000 to start and 30% of extra profits.<br /> <br /> HTH</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Selling without any proof is the closest thing to hell imaginable. If you know anyone at all who could benefit from what you plan to sell, help them for free in exchange for a reference/testimonial. No one else will know you helped them for free since its bad etiquette to ask how much you charged someone else</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">give a trial for free. if you are really helping them make money they will have no problem paying you after the trial.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><blockquote data-attributes="" data-quote="awesom-o" data-source="post: 191354" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-title"> <a href="/community/goto/post?id=191354" class="bbCodeBlock-sourceJump" rel="nofollow" data-xf-click="attribution" data-content-selector="#post-191354">awesom-o said:</a> </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-content"> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandContent js-expandContent "> I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on this,<br /> <br /> My question is essentially how best , in your experience is it approach established businesses with a service and to convince them that you are worth the risk? </div> <div class="bbCodeBlock-expandLink js-expandLink"><a role="button" tabindex="0">Click to expand...</a></div> </div> </blockquote><br /> First, convince yourself you are worth the risk. If you aren&#039;t totally convinced, business owners pick up on that right away. Your job is to show them that NOT buying your product is where the risk to their business is. If you aren&#039;t willing to charge for your service, you convey that you do not have confidence in your own product. Offer some measurable moneyback guarantee of your deliverables. Under promise, over deliver. Good luck!</div>
