What do you guys think about this approach?

I see that many succesful products started this way. Bloggers/website owners found a problem their audience has and build a tool/service to solve that.

Examples:

  • LeadPages - Clay Collins made a blog post with landing page templates that got popular.

  • WPcurve - Dan Norris built an audience from his failed startup Informly.

  • Videofruit - Bryan started with a blog around making money online now it sells tools to launch products

  • ConverKit - started as a SaaS challenge that eventually succeded
and there are many more examples. The idea is that many bootstraped products started with an already built audience.

  1. Does your audience have any pain that you can solve with software?
  2. What's stopping you to go the SaaS route instead of the usual ebooks, etc?
