I was talking with a local business owner the other day and reminiscing about how jazzed I would get at being able to save money on my recurring monthly costs such utilities, credit card fees, uniform contracts, etc when I owned the restaurant. He happened to mention his credit card processing rate and I was aghast, he was paying more than 4% of total sales! I explained how years ago, I found FattMerchant and PaymentDepot (we used the latter) that charge via a membership model with a flat monthly fee and a flat swipe fee and never looked back, it took our total sales percent from 3% down to 2.1% and there were no crazy statements to try and sift through all the ridiculous processing mumbo jumbo. Thought someone might benefit from this information if you are processing credit cards. And to be totally clear, I have no affiliation whatsoever with either of these companies just wanted to pass along something that might be helpful to members of the forum
