Location-Based Apps...?

Hi Guys,

I have an app idea for an app I think would do quite well but no experience with app creation.

Does anyone have experience with location based apps? (ex: TripAdvisor, urbanspoon, etc)

I would most likely hire out to have this app created as I imagine there would be quite the learning curve.

Any ideas of what something like this would cost roughly to have created?

It really depends on what specifically the app needs to do. Incorporating location services is not all that difficult or complex by itself.

Keep in mind that the range of prices developers charge is huge so your costs can vary from a couple hundred dollars to tens of thousands.

You should probably find a couple of recommended by somebody app developers and ask for price quotes.

To be more specific:

Looking at creating a location based app that can utilize GPS for directions to the locations that will be utilized on the app. The app would have multiple locations that people can give ratings (like trip advisor) and I would include contact information/reviews in the locations specific page.

The directions part is easy, one call to Google maps API and thats it.
