Lead Generation - How to track outbound referrals?

I’m trying to figure out how to do this – from a technical level.


To build a site where you are sending leads to external sites, from a technical standpoint, how would you charge per lead on outgoing links?


In other words, if you had a directory-style site where companies could post their own listings, and then you’d charge them a set amount for each lead you send to their site, how would you do that?


Would you track outbound links using something like Google Analytics, or are there any tools out there that automate this process?


How do sites like M.J.’s old Limo site handle this?

Actually I misunderstood, any basic tracker will do what you're asking. ClickMeter is good, you can also use Google UTM tags, etc.
