So it's official. I've dropped out of school, and won't be going back. I'm a dropout, sounds weird to say.
My mother was surprisingly decent when I broke the news to her. Basically the only reason I was going was because it's what she wanted.. but it wasn't what I wanted.
At first I had just planned on postponing for a year, but now I've officially thrown it out the window.
She is disappointed with my decision (perfectly understandable), but acknowledges I can make my own decisions, whether good, bad, or ugly.
In the end I'm going to prove to myself (and by extension my mother) that dropping out was a great decision.
When you guys/galls moved out/dropped out or both, how did it go? What were your frustrations, what did you wish you'd known sooner? (about work, life in general, about yourself, or anything).
Open to hear any stories or advice as I move forward with my life. Instead of all these stupid 'should I go to college/the value of college degrees' threads, let's try something a little different.
Not going to lie, I'm excited, nervous, and terrified. I have no Plan B anymore. But I'm going to win at the game of life.
Thanks!
