On the inside, I made a thread about saving money and what not. I can tell you that saving money alone wont help you. I'm not putting this one on the inside. I want people to see that the "save and invest in your 401k life style" doesn't work.
The only thing you can do is make more money and stack the excess from your bills to make more money.
I said I'd update on the 2nd of March. So here we go
Current Stats:
Bank: $91
C.Card: $937
Savings: $0
A break down of what happened:
Car broke down at 3 a.m. in 15-20 degree weather. I pushed it home. Good thing I was close and uphill.
I saved probably $1000 by fixing the car myself and I learned quite a few new skills. I guess you could say I paid for my education. I'm sure the work force would be HAPPY to have me now -.-
Car isn't 100% back yet though it's drivable after a month and a half of walking to and from work(sometimes in the snow and after 10pm! :'( )
I had my card paid down to 700 before the car broke. I had to use it to buy parts for my car.
Relationships in hard times:
I learned that relying on other people, when they don't have a vested interest in you, is stupid.
Family or friend. It doesn't matter.
Some are motivated by money, some are motivated by "love". If you don't have or give either, good luck dealing with these people.
Out of everyone I asked for help, only one showed up, my cousin. He drove me to get parts and what not.
His dad and my dad helped when I couldn't figure out what to do, but aside from that, I did the repairs myself.
But you know what, I don't hate any of them. I love them because they are my family.
Just because they weren't there for me, I'm going to be their for them when they need it.
Sorry if this is too long of a read, so for you lazy folks, here is a TL;DR
Good luck and best wishes

- I'm broke from saving
- I made more money the past two months or I'd be negative in the bank
- Relationships suck when you need help, don't expect anything, even if you helped them before.
- Learn your vehicle if you have more time then money. Hell, even being able to tell what's wrong with it could save you from getting conned.
Good luck and best wishes
