Hello,

Tis been a long time since iv posted, exams and all that jazz! Iv got a website (not quite fastlane...more of a practise run lol) in my head that I want to build, its a multi page website with a forum, blogs ect...iv been playing around with joomla and trying to decide if it is the best software to use or am I better just having a html built website (using dreamweaver or similar) or am I totally on the wrong path? any help would be nice :)

Don't use a 'What you see is what you get' (WYSIWYG) editor like DreamWeaver. Just learn HTML\CSS for now. Honestly, if you can't get to an ok level with that, you probably shouldn't be messing around with Joomla, or anything server-side.

Also, it's not really possible to answer your question since we don't know what you're actually making. If you want a static website with a blog, and forum there is no reason for Joomla. You could just set up WordPress for a blog, and PhPBB for a forum. They have very simple installers.

What exactly do you want to make?

I want to make a website that has information about a particular subject with the addition of people being able to have their own blogs. I would also like it to have a forum integrated and a classifieds section (which i know can be put into the forum for starters). Im planning to learn some HTML ( i can do extremely basic stuff but there is always more to learn ) :)
