I met a copywriter today.
He specializes in radio promotions.
He is very young
and very, very good,
well on his way to being one of the best.
He is also blind.
Nope, that is not a handicap,
that is a strength.
He is 100% focused on spoken communication,
every word, every nuance.

I specialize in new product launches.
It is a tough business,
a high, high failure rate.
Burn out with p.m.'s is quite high.
Not so with me.
Why?
Because I have a terrible memory,
a memory so bad
a teacher once wanted to put me in special ed.
I've forgotten my own birthday before.
But in product development,
this memory is a blessing.
I have binders and systems to remind me of lessons
but I promptly forget the harshness of failures.
