Hi Guys,

I was wondering what you guys think could be the next
big trend in the technology sector?

I came back from the EBSpreneurship conference on Sunday and I havn't seen any
particular trend. Trends in the internet come and go like waves.
We had social (Twitter, Facebook), then Ecommerce (Zalando, Zappos, Amazon) which will continue to grow.
Besides that, we will see clones of existing companies popping up in
the BRIC countries.

I worked for a software company developing software for the medical sector.
What about the biotech industry? E.g. Sensors everybody can use, to monitor
their vital signs.
Could that be something popping up in the next 2-3 years?
Maybe education?

I can tell you that televisions are going to take over a lot of the activities that phones/computers do today. Hell, it's already happening in higher-end tv's.

They will do video conferencing, apps, games, internet surfing, the works - everything your phone can do, on the tv. Maybe even a bit more since size is less of a factor.

I think we will see more of the integration between conventional TV and the
internet. Letting people interact with each other, while watching gaming shows/talk shows for
example.

At the same time, there will be less static computers.
More programms will move from PC to Laptops to smartphones
and tablets.

I was looking at the old Kindle 3G from somebody on the train
yesterday and it did work fantastic.
I wouldn't be suprised if there won't be any books at all in 20 years.
The quality of the display is tremendous and not at all
strenuous on the eyes either.

Allthough I read a lot of books, I can picture the future
with 20000 books on a little robust device in my pocket.
