The methods forcing young people into slowlane in Europa are becoming very active. Since the beginning of 2014, it is mandatory for all persons under age 30 to choose a pension fund( what probably the same as 401k in the usa) or it would be chosen for them. The explanation is that in 50 years most of the eu country's won`t have anymore financial methods to pay pensions. This basically means that you will be paying fund for the current pensions and also investing in different fund since it is made mandatory. And of course banks have seen the opportunity to get more money. Different representatives from banks are coming to schools and talking all kinds of BS to young persons, promising that they would be millionaires when they retire. What is very bad is the fact that many of the young persons sign a contract for a different fund right after the lecture not knowing basically how dangerous it will be for their future since nobody dosen`t know what the stock market will do in 50 years and will the banks manage to earn something to your fund or maybe lose all your money. I have tried to talk to a couple of my classmates on the subject how bad these things are and it won`t make them rich but hey they don`t listen. I have not chosen one and i definitely will not choose one.
