So I'm thinking of trying out an import business that, because I have a little experience with the item, I think it could do well sales-wise in my area. The manufacturer im looking at dealing with was found via Alibaba. They are a "gold member" of less than a year. And can sell at an FOB price I could markup well over 200% and still be considerably cheaper than competition. Problem is all personal data seems to be hidden on their account (phone, fax, email). I put out a request for what Im looking to buy, and he replied on Alibaba and also via Email. He claims to have what I want, and the link to the business website on Alibaba looks good, lots of products and info. But another thing is their website shows 5 different sizes of what Im looking to buy. And he says they have 3 sizes in stock. Seems to me a real manufacturer would be able to make whatever size I need (within the 5 sizes they offer at least) I guess ill mention these are gloves I'm talking about.
Alibaba says theyve made 6 sales this year. I may be overly paranoid here but I figured id ask the group for opinions? I'm still waiting for quotes from a couple other suppliers, so Im not going to make any rash decisions here.
Also that reminds me. Do they call everyone a supplier on Alibaba? Because I think of suppliers and manufacturers as 2 different things
