Dude, what are your business model, stocks?
Honored to be summoned by the great @Vigilante even though this is about me being an addict. lol.
Anyway.. What are you gambling where you lose 14k in ten minutes? If this is poker are you playing like 5k nl? That's ridiculous. If you're playing online table games, that's even more ridiculous.
You're in the USA, so I'm assuming you were playing on Bovada? They are extremely quick to ban you if you ask. Hell, any site will do it if you ask for a permanent self-exclusion.
Ban yourself from every USA facing site. Make it impossible to play.
This is one of few situations in life where you need to act without thinking. Don't give yourself time to convince yourself that you can somehow make it work. You can't.
I would lose a decent amount of money, swear to myself that I'd never do it again.. but lo and behold the next day I convince myself that 'I can do it this time.'
Request an immediate and permanent self-exclusion from every website that you have access to. Don't think about it, just do it.
It isn't worth it. Just be thankful you didn't end up in debt over this.
Ps: I honestly don't believe those numbers unless you were playing some kind of online blackjack or something of that nature. Even then most sites are capped at $500/hand.. were you really risking that much?
If this is forex or short term trading... or god help us all - binary options, then you also need to quit immediately.
None of these things are value added activities that will move you closer to your goals.
Sounds like Forex
i appreciate your advice, thank you grumpycatNo, I don't know what you mean.
If this is pure gambling (sports, poker, casino, etc) then just send them an email asking for a permanent self exclusion and they will oblige. You don't have to speak to anyone, and it will completely eliminate your ability to follow through and lose more money if the urge ever comes back.
You are also a minor (based on your intro post in Jan. 2014), unless you just recently turned 18, so you are breaking multiple laws if this 'grey area' is a gambling website.
You are also breaking the law by transferring money to and from a financial institution to an unregulated offshore enterprise. This is illegal in the USA (I'm not american).
There is no situation where this ends well.
But cryptic posts about what it is that is actually going on isn't going to help you.
Good luck.
i was aware this wouldnt last forever and wasnt fastlane, i just felt i could keep it going for at least another week but that did not turn out wellAny time you can lose that much money in ten minutes isn't the place to be. I suppose they've already said what you needed to hear. That would be my impression you're gambling and thinking it's the way to fast lane.
