How to start distributing a product

Hi guys so i have found a product in the USA that will sell really good here in europe.
A guy from america invented it, its nothing special but i just know it will sell really good here.

He doesn't run a business whatsoever so we need to setup contracts etc, but i need a sample from him first.
If i like the product i would like to distribute the product in europe.

I just really don't know where to start...

Do you guys reccomend any books on distribution and or have some advice.

I have looked for threads about this, didn't really found usefull threads about this but i will still keep looking.

Do you mean distribution as in going into big box stores, etc? Or just selling it to the market?

The physical aspect of order fulfillment would be like... have inventory, package, distribute to your buyers via shipments.

The selling part is... having a place where you can sell it(Amazon, Ebay, ECommerce store, local store, trade show, etc etc.), and converting leads into customers.

Not sure what advice you are looking for, it's pretty simple

I must admit that I'm not clear on this. Does this person have a physical product you can actually buy? Does he/she merely have a patent? Lots of missing information here that would be helpful to us looking in.

He already sells it in the US, and it is not patented. And it is a physical product you can hold in your hands. Its a bottle with some liquid inside nothing chemical.
My endgoal is selling it to the big box stores here, basicly being the source of the product in europe, every sale will need to go through me. i want to be an affiliate.
