Pretty simple theory and I'm sure a lot of you are already in this mindset. But for people who are not, the changing of your mindset to this mentality should really help you out. It did for me.

Let's say that you try a project and it fails, miserably. What you now know is that your previous string of choices/decisions DON'T work. Now, think back to before you started this.

Did you or did you not know that your strategy would not work? Obviously you did not know it wouldn't work or else you would not have wasted your time. So through failure, you have actually grown quite a bit in whichever field you have failed in. You now know things to avoid/not do.

Its weird, I find that my mistakes are usually because I'm rushing, or berating myself somehow.
When you start knowing your plans will succeed you start to feel its because you really took your time, paid your dues, and came to understand the field you are in substantially.

I just trust that I'll get it right eventually, and I'll know it when I see it. I fail at my plans until I just know completely how its done by instinct.

My failures now, are just because, I don't let myself find my own way.
So I try to just do it day by day, and know the next day will be better than the best stuff I can whip up today.

But I agree with the OP
Assess yourself
But maybe also, know, that winners don't hack, and just become a solid contender

If you're gonna make mistakes, I'd say make them fast or learn from others mistakes.
