EDIT; GOOGLE KNOWS ALL. Yeah, but still interesting how they try. Feel bad for the idiots that actually fall for this stuff... well, no I don't feel bad at all.
I'm selling increasingly more expensive items, and numerous times now I've encountered these people that want to pay via paypal.
Yesterday a 'Marine biologist', whose area code matched Los Angeles, told me he'd like to send me the money via paypal and then he'd like me to ship the diamond ring (what I'm selling) to Africa as a present for his girlfriend who's doing advocacy work there.
This morning, I receive another one from a guy/girl in Florida (can't remember his/her story).
And just now I get this guy with a New York area code that wants me to ship the ring to China.
Now I only deal cash only when it's on craigslist (no exceptions), but assuming they send me the money first and then I send the product (not doing it, just wondering), how would they scam me? Is there a way that buyers can revoke their transfer or something?
Or pay with a stolen account.
Either way it's funny. List something for over 4 figures and these people with crazy stories come out of nowhere.
