OK I need someone to give me a few ideas on how a little amount of time can be used effectively to increase momentum and make progress consistently.

I’m on a full-time internship at the moment at a maintenance department of a hotel in London which helps me pick up a few important skills. This job takes up about 10 hours of my day (including commute time) and upon calculating the rough duration of all other activities I end up with 2 Hours of free-time per day to focus on pursuing my business model and my question is How can I most effectively use this time?

I’m currently learning Web design and finding digital solutions and I plan to start as soon as I grasp the concepts.

I can also increase the time available by sleeping less but I do want to prioritise health as well.

Any tips on productivity and building a solid routine would be appreciated :)

Welcome! Do you already know your business idea that you will launch?

Yes, I’m starting with Web design which I’ll begin offering to business in my local community as they need new websites then focus on scaling at a larger scale.

I’m also looking to create a website for hotels looking to purchase organic ingredients and also hire chefs.

But at this moment in time I’m only a beginner with no prior experience in web design and I want to learn the most I can with the time I have.

Any tips?

I have a full time job and a business.

I work on the business 7am to 9am and then 7:30pm to 9:30pm each night. Saturday is my day off. I work Sunday for 8 hours on the business.

The most important part is to do something each day. Make a call, send an email, fix a bug, create a blog post, record/edit a video. It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you keep pushing forward.

Sleep is important too. Try to sleep 7 to 8 hours each night. No point staying up late (unless it's an emergency) if your productivity is in the gutter the next day.

Don't forget to do some stretches if you sit all day. Use a standup desk for half the day if possible. Drink lots of water and avoid consuming stimulants past 3pm. You want to be able to unwind and fall asleep quickly at night to maximize your resting time. I recommend a short yoga video before going to bed.

Thanks for sharing this. A lot great suggestions in here. I think staying up late to be a good time to work on my Millionaire Fastlane Projects. But it never works out that way. So I’ll try prioritizing 7-8 hours sleep and do the early morning thing. I also need to decide which of my many ideas I want to focus on first. I haven’t landed on anything concrete just yet.

Thank you for your advice. I’ll be using a similar schedule to the one you’ve suggested from tomorrow onwards.

I agree with you about doing something each day no matter the amount of time put in. I guess the rest will be figured out through trial and error.

Wake up early in the morning until you go to your job or work in the evening. Work/life balance will not be balanced for awhile.

How do hotels currently do those two tasks?

How are you going to make it better?

Why should they choose your solution and change their existing process?

What about asking your employer to change your work rate to 80%? the weekly employment/business effort ratio changes from 5/2 to 4/3, which can make a big difference.

Some companies allow this and consider 80-100% work as full-time and tend to be flexible with interns.
