I'm pretty sure in the book MJ was talking about how he started out (with the $900 and all) but I don't remember how he treated his first leads. I have the kindle version so it is really annoying trying to go back and find it...
Did you gather leads first promising them to send them to companies (while not yet having any companies to buy the leads) or did you go to the companies first pitching not having to pay for anything until leads came in?
It seems like you need them both at once when getting started because they both rely on each other. How did you go about this problem?
I also want to ask if you got leads by hand before your website became ranked in Google? I was thinking about going to craigslist and gathering leads that way locally while starting out.
