Speaking of penny, coin-collecting is one of these collections that's worth a bit. For example, my grandfather sends me coins ALL the time, and I truly LOVE collecting coins. He has sent me the $1 President Un-circulated coins to VDB Pennies. He recently sent me a 1909 VDB Lincoln penny with the Wheat Symbol on the back. It is in relatively good condition so I looked up its value. I found out that I could sell it anywhere from $500-$1500! I couldn't believe it!
Don't mean to burst your bubble, but it sounds like you have a 1909 VDB and the pricing you mention is for an S VDB. Of course, I could be wrong, but see if it's an S VDB, that's the valuable one. The S would be right under the date on the front. If it's an S VDB, Congratulations!!
