I am very glad I found this forum.
I am long time Fastlane entry seeker, and I think I will get there soon.
Since few weeks ago I manage to make a mind shift - until now, I was struggling with marketing of my products. I have lot of good ideas and very good coding skills (Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Java, Golang) with lot of experience - 10 years in good companies, lot of projects behind - but I had this mental brakes with such thoughts:
* how I will find any customers - sending emails or approaching people directly will never work!
* even if I will send anything no one will by my product!
* any industry is too small to find 1000 companies to pay 10 $ for my saas (or 200 to pay 50$)
* I dont have any good ideas
But, recently I finally realized its not true! So I started develop one of my idea (saas for developers) and when I will have something I will start to promote it and learn it! Will direct approach on linked in work, or cold emails or adwords? I will see. But I will push hard and learn from results and customers.
And my ideal, fastlane life:
* own/share own plane from my avatar - Cirrus SR22 and use it to travel around Europe and States
* have lot of time for other hobbies: woodworking, gliding, hiking, sailing, garden
* spend much more time with family
