It's hard to admit the failure!
I haven't posted anything in quite sometime now, about an year was my last post in the forum (I was here though, reading). I was too busy chasing money! Yes, correct, I was chasing money. I thought I was building "the next multimillion" dollar online business. Well, I was wrong. SO WRONG!
Now, It passed sometime after I stopped working on my "business" but I know why It failed Big time! I was trying to fulfil a need that doesn't really exists. No matter I have read the book twice, It never really occur to me to back then, before I started the project...
Stupid Me!
When I think about it, it makes me mad, mad to myself. I learn my lesson though! That's for sure. I was down, but that can't crush me, I'm not giving up. Yes, I failed, Yes, I was obviously chasing the money, thinking I will be able to create the need even though there wasn't a need.
I realized I was chasing the money several months ago, It sucked at the beginning. Of course! Every time you fail - it hurts!
What sucks the most for me is that I have told about my project to so many people, including my family, my friends, partner in life ... they all expected to work out, no that's a lie, they all thought It won't work because it's an online thing, it's not a "real 9-5 job". It sucked because I didn't prove them wrong, that's my mental illness - to prove I can do it and show they were wrong (I guess a lot of us want to do that). But it's all fair, I have't solved any problem/need, I failed. Fair enough.
Learn From my mistakes!
So, what you can learn from my "successful" startup is to ALWAYS, ALWAYS test and validate your Idea, found problem/Need or whatever you are after or have found. I will say it again - VALIDATE YOUR IDEA!!!!
How to validate your idea/need/problem? - Speak to your market before you even get a domain name, write a single line of code, getting logo or start printing your business card.... Send emails to eventual prospects/clients, speak with them in skype, G+, forums, groups, phone calls, ads, whatever you want. Best case scenario - get a paying customer before you even started building your product. (No, it's not that ridiculous as some of you might think, Offer value in exchange - 20% lifetime discount of the price of the product, early access and let them know they will be able to give advices about the interface or the service or whatever it is that you're building, give them the CEO (a.k.a you and/or your partners) phone number, ect). Don't repeat my mistake! Do yourself a favour and validate your idea.
Fast Forward: Nowadays
Even though I've learn a lot of things from my failure(s), I'm still not on the right track. I'm trying to analyse myself and why I can't get on a track but I'm still not sure. I'm far far away from the thought I know everything I should do - if that was the case I wouldn't be working for a stupid middle age man right now!
I know I have to find a pain, need, inconvenience ect in a market. If there's a pain, the more painful it is, the better! Test/validate the idea before I try to execute it just to be sure that you're not chasing money and if you receive positive response from your market, great, go for it.
The ridiculous thing is I know what I should do, but I experience difficulties finding a pain, need, problem or inconvenience. Not sure about the reason but I think I'm not listening/reading to people's complains. I'm stuck in this situation for several months now and I can't figure out how to find a pain. It's like I want to listen but actually I'm not listening or not hearing at least.... opportunities are everywhere, problems and needs are everywhere .... I should be able to recognize them .... I will be stuck until I don't start hearing what people complain about ....
~~ I hope I haven't bored you too much! But I do think people can learn from my failure! ~~

Hey, why don't you validate your idea before you spent 8 months and half of your nerves in developing the product!? If the market respond well, awesome, go build it! If not, well, you won't waste 8 months building something that no one wants.
