Extending your return

I filed one extension already. I remember Russ mentioning that he filed two in previous years and didn't submit till October I believe. I just tried to electronically file another Form 4868 Application for Extension and it said they wern't being accepted. Is there a different form I am suppossed to use?

I always file late in the year .... I believe Sept for business and Oct for personal. Or, flip it around. Remember, extensions do not give you extensions on money's owed to the Gov.

yea i read that when filling it uout but i only filled out a 3 mo extentsion and now i need more time, is there another form i should be using?

I don't know ... my accountant does it for me without any action on my part.

S-Corp's now have to file their returns on Sept 15th ... use to be Oct 15th. Just found out! So those who filed extensions, Sept 15th is DDAY for both personal and business.

Ahh thank you for that info. i do not have an s-corp however, i have an SM LLC in which i file a sched C along with my normal taxes.
