Begin using CPA or reach out for advertisers?

My latest site (around 2 weeks old) was my real first test with SEO. I understand the mentality behind starting a few sites before you hit the profitable one, but I feel like I've really hit a nice, unsaturated micro-niche within bodybuilding. The views (~20UV/day and increasing), however, haven't really converted to the type of revenue I think I get.

I'm currently using Adsense, but I feel like I could have more targeted ads myself (I haven't found a way to do so with the ads displayed). I could either join the affiliate programs for different supplement suppliers or the actual nutrition companies, but the 2nd option (which would be better) would be harder. Otherwise, I could reach out to the companies, asking if they'd like to advertise directly on the site, sponsor posts, etc.

Any suggestions? I'd have to work on my presentation either way (I'll give the URL if interested), and I'd be fine with going out and emailing companies. Thanks in advance!
